At The Beginning

At The Beginning

It is still surreal for me that I’m now in my third year as a psychology undergrad. It was a long but humbling journey. I have already earned a bachelor’s degree, so why take the long route? I did think a Master’s degree was the way to go, but I was redirected to start from scratch. A “tabula rasa”, or blank slate, as the philosophers put it. Did I doubt the choice that I made? Yes. I could have skipped the four years and taken the shortcut. But at that time, when the admission department said they only take students in the master’s program with an aligned bachelor’s degree, I could have chosen a different school. I didn’t. Instead, I enrolled in an undergraduate study. Why? I cannot pinpoint the exact reason. What I’m certain of is that the desire to start the journey to learn about psychology professionally took over and made me pay the downpayment to enroll. Did I regret that choice? No. In fact, I’m excited about what lies ahead. So, I want to start this blog to document the things that I have learned and will learn in this exciting science of mind and behavior.  As Mahatma Gandhi once said,

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
